![]() The Paramakanda Viharaya near Anamaduwa is a rarely visited Buddhist rock temple in Sri Lanka’s North Western Province. The temple has a typical image cave, which can only be visited, if you find a monk or servant with access to a key. The rock can easiliy be climbed via a modern stairway, the views from the Paramakanda to the coconut plains are magnificent. Anamaduwa is located halfway between the district capitals Puttalam and Kurunega. It could be visited using a side road from Negombo or Colombo to Anuradhapura or Mihintale. |
