Both companies, Apex Nepal Treks & Tours and Lanka Excursions Holidays, organize Buddhist and Hindu cultural or pilgrimage tours, as both countries, Nepal and Sri Lanka, have a rich Buddhist and Hindu tradition and impressive monuments and sacred sites of both Asian religions.
There are also some differences, of course. In Sri Lanka, Buddhism and Hinduism are represented by the two major ethnicities, the Sinhalese majority resp. Tamil minority, whereas there are many more minorities in Nepal and the large Newar community, the majority in the Kathmandu valley, practices both religions side by side. For comparison, some Hindu elements - such as worship of Hindu deities - are also integrated in the Sinhalese version of Buddhism. But veneration of Shiva is almost never found among Buddhists in Sri Lanka, whereas Shiva worship is typical of the religion of Tamils. In contrast, Shiva worship - besides Buddhism - is quite common among Newars. Furthermore, the forms of Buddhism differ. The Sinhala Buddhism is Theravadin, whereas Newars usually practice a quite unique form of Tantric Buddhism. The institutional basis of Buddhism in Sri Lanka is much more focused on the Sangha (the Order of monks) than in the Newari culture. Though there are some differences in styles of art accordingly, some basic features are shared in Buddhist architecture of Nepal and Sri Lanka, most notably the stupa buildings. The birthplace of the historical Buddha Shakyamuni is in Lumbhini in Nepal, whereas the most famous Buddha relic is the Sacred Tooth in Kandy in Sri Lanka, a canine, that had been kept when the Buddha was cremated in Kushinagara in the Indian part of the Ganges region, close to today's Nepal border.
Apart from heritage tours, the major focus of Apex Nepal Treks & Tours, of course, is hiking and trekking in the Himalayas.
But they also offer safaris in wildlife areas in the lowlands of Nepal, the Terai region along the Indian border. The Chitwan National Park in Nepal is as well-known for the rare single-horned species of rhinos and also for its tiger population... as Sri Lanka's Yala National Park is famous for the world's highest density in leopards.

some major tourist attractions in Nepal:
Pokhara, Nepal's second largest town, is renowned for wonderful lakes and surrounding hills, offering spectacular views to the Annapurna mountain range, which raises to a height of 8091 meters above sea level.
Kathmandu, Nepal's charming capital, is situated in an elevation with a mild climate. The central Durbar Square, also called Hanuman Dhoka, is part of the World Heritage Site Kathmandu Valley. The head office of Apex Nepal Treks & Tours is located only 1.5km north of the square.
Swayambhunath, picturesquely located on the summit of a hill in the Kathmandu Valley, is one of the oldest large stupas in Nepal, roughly 2 centuries younger than Sri Lanka's Jetavanarama in Anuradhapura. Among tourists, Swayambhunath is known as "monkey temple", because the northwestern area is inhabited by holy monkeys, they are believed to be the offspring of the lice in Bodhisattva Manjushri's long hair.
Chitwan has the oldest national park in Nepal and the largest of the three parks in the lush green lowlands close to the Indian border. Tigers and leopards are the big cats of Chitwan NP. Chances are good to observe Indian rhinoceros, more than 500 of which inhabit this park. It covers an area as large as Yala blocks 1 and 2 and 3 combined.
