Diyaluma Falls, with a height 174 m, is one of the four tallest waterfalls in Sri Lanka. The falls formed by Punagala Oya are surrounded by legends, one of them referring to the name “Diyaluma”, which could translate to “liquid light”. Diyaluma Falls near Koslanda are easy to reach, as they are located between Beragalla and Wellawaya at the A14 main road, which crosses the Diyaluma Falls Bridge. The distance from Haputale is 30 km by road, from Ella 38 km by road. Driving distance to the large rock-cut Buddha statues of Buduruwagala is only 22 km.
