Colombo's new landmark Lotus Tower, placed on the waterfront of Beira Lake in the heart of the capital, was opened 16th September by Sri Lanka's President Sirisena. Though designed for broadcasting in the first place, but it also serves as an observation platform and therefore is a new touristic highlight of Colombo. Measuring 356 m (1,168 ft) in height, it is one of the 20 tallest towers in the world. |
