You will start with a scenic boat ride to Pigeon Island,
where you'll snorkel for 3 hours. Snorkeling gear will be provided.
This family-friendly tour is suitable for children above 6,
with an optional personal helper for younger children.
Refreshments, including bottled water and king coconut, will be provided.

After snorkeling, you’ll head to a private Muslim village
for a seafood lunch in your guide’s home.
You’ll have the chance to shower and freshen up.

The seafood lunch includes
prawns, crab, cuttlefish, butterfish, cucumber salad, Muslim rice, and tropical fruit for dessert.
After the meal, you'll be transferred back to Nilaveli Beach or your hotel by 2:00 PM.

Support the local community with an authentic private experience
in a village of traditional Sri Lankan Muslim families, who will receive a fair share of the tour costs.
The guide’s family, dependent on fishing for their livelihood,
sells fresh catch directly to visitors, creating a genuine and intimate home visit.

The village is underprivileged, and by participating, you contribute valuable support.
Depending on group size, three or four families will help prepare and share the meal,
offering a unique, community-driven experience
that showcases the authentic Muslim traditions and hospitality of Sri Lanka's northeastern coast.

Guidelines for Conduct in the Muslim Village

This fishing village has a long tradition of strictly observing Muslim customs and rules.
As a mark of respect for the local community,
we kindly ask that you adhere to the following guidelines during your visit:

When returning by boat to Nilaveli beach,
please dress appropriately, before antering the car:
While shorts and T-shirts are perfectly acceptable,
but please to not visit the Muslim village in your swimwear.

The private house will offer protected open shower areas in the backyard
for your convenience and refreshment.

Please note that, in line with local customs,
the cooking demonstration in the kitchen will be provided only for female guests.

Pick-Up Time: 8:30 AM
Meeting Point: Wildlife Ticket Office at Nilaveli Beach or your hotel for your convenience

Boat Transfer to Snorkeling Area:

• You will enjoy a scenic boat ride to the snorkeling spots on the most famous Pigeon Island.
• For your safety, mandatory life jackets will be provided during both boat transfers.
  
  

Snorkeling Tour:

• The tour includes a 3-hour snorkeling session at the beaches of Pigeon Island, which is officially designated National Park for the protection of maritime wildlife.
• Providing snorkeling equipment, such as masks and fins, is included in our services.
• This tour is family-friendly and suitable for children above 6. For families with children below 6, we recommend to customize the tour by providing a personal helper for a surcharge.
• Bottled drinking water will be provided during the boat ride and a refreshing king coconut will be served for each participant on Pigeon Island.
  
  

Post-Snorkeling Freshening Up:

• After the snorkeling tour, you will be transferred to the deep village, where your hosts are waiting for you to serve lunch in the dining area of their own private house.
• Before you get into the vehicle, you must put on a T-shirt and pants or shorts, as you should not exit in swimwear upon arrival at the Muslim village.
• Close to the home of your guide, where the lunch will be served, you will have an opportunity to shower and also to change into fresh clothes, if you like

Seafood Lunch:

• You will enjoy a freshly prepared seafood lunch, cooked using firewood, in the welcoming home of your guide’s family, accompanied by refreshing non-alcoholic beverages.
• The delicious lunch will include:
  • Succulent prawns
  • Sweet, tender crab
  • Fresh cuttlefish
  • Flavourful butterfish
  • Crisp cucumber salad
  • Muslim rice (Dunthel)
  • Dessert: A selection of fresh, tropical fruits

Tour End:

• After you will have enjoyed this truly authentic Muslim cuisine of Sri Lanka’s north-eastern coast, you will be transferred back to Nilaveli Beach or your hotel in Nilaveli or Uppuveli or Trincomalee around 2:00 PM.

Payment Policy

We kindly request the following payment schedule:  
1. Advance Payment: A deposit of 20% of the tour costs is to be paid upon confirmation.  
2. Balance Payment: The remaining 80% of the tour price is due 48 hours prior to the start of the tour.

If the booking is made within 48 hours of the scheduled time, a payment of 100% of the tour price is due immediately.

Cancellation and No-Show policy

•    In case of cancelling after the confirmation: 20% will be charged
•    In case of cancelling less than 48 hours prior to arrival: 100% will be charged
•    In case of no-show: 100% will be charged
