but also to enjoy the entire preparation process,
from selecting ingredients at the markets of Negombo
to serving lunch in a welcoming private atmosphere.

Additional highlights of the tour include
a short boat ride on the Maha Oya River and Hamilton Canal with its lagoons,
a city tour, and shopping opportunities in a non-touristy district.

Pick-Up Time: Around 9:00 AM

Visit to Negombo Fish Market

• Start the day with a visit to the bustling Negombo fish market, the most worth seeing in Sri Lanka, where we will select fresh fish and prawns that will later be prepared for your lunch.

Local Vegetable Market Experience

• Explore a local vegetable market, where fresh produce and spices for your lunch curries will be explained and purchased.
• Later watch as traditional spices and other ingredients are prepared on-site for your meal.

Sri Lankan Snacks during Cooking Demonstration

• Relax with drinks, including beer, and enjoy typical Sri Lankan snacks while our family members clean and prepare the vegetables in the kitchen. The snacks served in the house are home-made and therefore less fatty than the usual Sri Lankan street food.
• Participate in the cooking process or just observe a traditional cooking demonstration, learning the art of authentic Sri Lankan cuisine.

Lunch: A Feast of Sri Lankan Flavours

• Savor a lunch featuring:
  • 1 fish curry
  • 1 prawn curry
  • 5 vegetable curries
  • Papadam
• Lunch will be served with non-alcoholic beverages, offering a delicious taste of Sri Lanka.

City Tour of Negombo

• Embark on a guided city tour covering major landmarks and neighbourhoods of four distinct religious communities.
• In town, enjoy a fresh king coconut water for a break.
• Enjoy shopping opportunities in the town center, where locals also buy their clothes and run their errands.

Boat Ride in the Maha Oya Delta

• Experience a serene boat ride through the less touristy Maha Oya delta, exploring the natural beauty of the tropical region.

Beach Stop and Sunset Cocktail

• On the way back to your hotel, take a break at a picturesque beach to watch the iconic Ruwal Oru sailing boat catamarans (actually outrigger boats)  used by Negombo’s fishermen.
• Indulge in a refreshing cocktail of Sri Lankan arrack mixed with pineapple juice as you soak in the coastal ambiance.

Payment Policy

We kindly request the following payment schedule:  
1. Advance Payment: A deposit of 20% of the tour costs is to be paid upon confirmation.  
2. Balance Payment: The remaining 80% of the tour price is due 48 hours prior to the start of the tour.

If the booking is made within 48 hours of the scheduled time, a payment of 100% of the tour price is due immediately.

You can pay securely using a credit card (Visa, or MasterCard) on our online payment gateway, but in this case 4% or the tour costs have to be charged additionally to cover card fees. Log-in details for the payment gateway will be sent to you upon confirmation.

option 2: Wire Transfer
For bank transfers, please ensure that all international bank charges are covered by the sender. (E&OE Invoice)

Cancellation and No-Show policy

•    In case of cancelling after the confirmation: 20% will be charged
•    In case of cancelling less than 48 hours prior to arrival: 100% will be charged
•    In case of no-show: 100% will be charged
