will take you to Negombo, where Sri Lanka's most impressive fish market is located.
The culinary excursion  features a visit to the private residence of Nuwan Gajanayaka,
founder and CEO of Lanka Excursions Holidays.
It provides a chance not only to savor the authentic flavours of Sri Lanka's coastal cuisine
but also to immerse yourself in the entire culinary journey,
from handpicking fresh ingredients at Negombo's vibrant markets
to enjoying a home-cooked meal in a warm and private setting.

Regional delicacies, including welcome snacks and beverages,
will further showcase the rich food traditions of Sri Lanka's western area.

The tour also features a relaxing boat ride along the Hamilton Canal north of the Maha Oya,
offering views of serene lagoons,
a city exploration, and shopping in a less touristy neighbourhood.

Visit to Negombo Fish Market
After arriving from Colombo via highway after around half an hour,
kick off the day by visiting Negombo's vibrant fish market,
widely regarded as the best and busiest in Sri Lanka.
Here, we'll handpick fresh fish and prawns that will later be cooked for your lunch.

Local Vegetable Market Experience
Wander also through a lively Negombo's food market,
where you'll discover fresh vegetables and spices needed for your curries.
Watch as traditional ingredients are carefully prepared for your meal on-site.

Sri Lankan Snacks during Cooking Demonstration
Enjoy drinks, including beer, and taste authentic Sri Lankan snacks
as our family members clean and prep the vegetables in the kitchen.
The snacks served in the house are home-made and therefore less fatty than the usual Sri Lankan street food.
Join the cooking process or simply observe as a traditional culinary demonstration reveals the secrets of Sri Lankan cooking.

Lunch: A Feast of Sri Lankan Flavours
Delight in a lunch featuring:
200g of grilled thuna or Sri Lankan butterfish per person

• 1 fish curry
• 1 prawn curry
• 5 vegetable curries
• Papadam

Lunch will be accompanied by non-alcoholic beverages,
offering a true taste of Sri Lanka.

City Tour of Negombo
Take a guided city tour, exploring the key landmarks
and neighborhoods from four different religious communities.
Enjoy a refreshing break with a king coconut drink
and explore shopping options in the heart of the town,
where locals buy clothes and run errands.

Boat Ride in the Maha Oya Delta
Set off on a tranquil canal and lagoon boat ride near the Maha Oya estuary,
discovering the peaceful natural beauty of this tropical region.

Beach Stop and Sunset Cocktail
On the return journey, pause at a scenic beach
to observe the traditional Ruwal Oru outrigger boats used by local fishermen.
Sip on a refreshing cocktail made with Sri Lankan arrack and pineapple juice
while taking in the coastal atmosphere.

Payment Policy

We kindly request the following payment schedule:  
1. Advance Payment: A deposit of 20% of the tour costs is to be paid upon confirmation.  
2. Balance Payment: The remaining 80% of the tour price is due 48 hours prior to the start of the tour.

If the booking is made within 48 hours of the scheduled time, a payment of 100% of the tour price is due immediately.

You can pay securely using a credit card (Visa, or MasterCard) on our online payment gateway, but in this case 4% or the tour costs have to be charged additionally to cover card fees. Log-in details for the payment gateway will be sent to you upon confirmation.

option 2: Wire Transfer
For bank transfers, please ensure that all international bank charges are covered by the sender. (E&OE Invoice)

Cancellation and No-Show policy

•    In case of cancelling after the confirmation: 20% will be charged
•    In case of cancelling less than 48 hours prior to arrival: 100% will be charged
•    In case of no-show: 100% will be charged
